Dr.Basil Mathew obtained PhD in Oceanography from Cochin University of Science & technology. He was former Senior Scientist (G) in the Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Defence Research and Development, Organization (DRDO), Kochi. At present, he is working as Adjunct Faculty in Physical Oceanography in Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (KUFOS). Before joining NPOL, he has worked as Scientist in the National Centre for Earth Science Studies Former (CESS). His areas of specialisation are Ocean Dynamics and Air-Sea Interaction. He has published several research papers in reputed national and international journals. He has supervised several research projects and brought out research reports. He has supervised eight PhD students in physical Oceanography and related areas.
